Leeds 3 Pie Rovers 1

Scores

Martyn 6 - came out for a cross and caught it. The crowd nearly feinted.
Jansen scored a bit too easily for my liking - Martyn left the far post
wide open. Apart from that nothing much to do.

Mills 7 - steady game. Offers so much more than Kelly on the right. Made
several good forays into Rovers' area but was always going to be tested
against the lively Damien Dunn. Good to have you back Danny boy.

Harte 7 - much improved. Must have shat himself when Gillespie came on
for Dunn early doors. To his credit he didn't give the winger too much
success although his backing off was very David Robertson.

Woody 8 - would have got a perfect 10 but his slip with Rio cost us a
goal. Considering his time out he was superb.

Rio 8 - his partnership with Matteo is fantastic but is even better with
Woody next to him. We've never had it so good at the back (apart from
Dubes, Kelly and Farte)

Smith 8 - played on the right of midfield but popped up everywhere like
a glove puppet out of a trap door. His 1st time ball from the left gave
Robbie his 2nd goal. Is beginning to show some real promise in the
middle. Mysteriously went off injured. Just walked off the park !

Kewell 8 That's more like it ! It helps when he plays against a piss
poor fullback and today he murdered the poor lad. Scored a wonderful
goal at a critical time for us. Left foot, edge of the box, drilled into
the bottom left corner. Tada !

Ollie 7.5 Had one eye on Tugay throughout waiting to twat him for the
tackle the Turkish **** did on Ollie at Piewood Park last year. Did
enough in the game but was not fully up to speed

Batty 9 - had two eyes on Tugay throughout waiting to twat him for the
tackle on Ollie..etc. Then switched his attention to Mark Hughes when he
came on for the cheating Turk. Brilliant game from Batts. Pity he's no
idea about scoring, as the Kop would collectively orgasm if he ever hit
the target. Jizz stopped play.

Viduka 7 - played better against a poor defence and could have had 2
when he spazzed a simple header wide with his toblerone and then tried
to chip the keeper from 6 yards out when he could have blasted it home
to end his embarrassing goal drought. 7 league goals is just not good
enough i'm afraid. Much better all round, and rotund performance though.

Fowler 9 - his goals were the difference between the teams. Lethal
finishing - or as my mate at school once said "Lethal Fishing"
He baited Rovers and they fell for his class - hook, line and sinker.

Subs/ YES ! 3 of them ! Keane, Bakke and Wilcox.
Keane did much better on the right than of late and got an assist for
Kewell's delightful goal.
